Top 9 things you must do to fully experience Guimaras before 2017 ends

Guimaras is an Island blessed with clean waters framed by white sand beaches , postcard worthy coves and offshore islets. A week ago I’ve witnessed the Island’s unblemished simplicity of life and noticed the vast green areas which were mostly patched of their famous mango trees. The Island has been famous for having the sweetest mangoes which eventually enticed numerous visitors from the Philippines as well as the ones from the different parts of the globe.

Today, I would like to give you the list of my top recommended things to see and do in Guimaras before 2017 ends!

I. Try out their most talked about Mango Pizza

III. Checkout SEAFDEC

(Learn, play and meet new friends: You may dip your feet and play with the milk fish *check photos below*. While learning about the marine wildlife from the guide on duty,  SEAFDEC also allows you to have the chance to meet Ramona the sea turtle 🐢 )

RAMONA 🐢

Meet “Ramona” a rescued turtle at SEAFDEC fish world Guimaras, according to the Marine Biologist on duty… “Ramona” had a rough history in the hands of a random fisherman who tied her up for luck (A certain superstitious belief saying that capturing a sea turtle 🐢 will give any fisherman good chances of catching extravagant amount of fishes.) “Ramona” the poor creature tried to escape and had the right flipper broken in exchange of freedom.

Another reason for us to expose our selves with a more realistic mindset, stop marine abuse and let these guys be. 🐢

IV. Take photos of the postcard worthy coves and offshore islets during your Island hopping

I included a short greeeting and made the Guimaras icon as my backdrop during my latest visit. You may check the short clip featuring Guimaras on my facebook page: Levy Amosin- Hugging Horizons

VIII. Check out the Baras Cave

IX. Holy Family Hills

Recommended for people who aren’t fan of rigid trekking during the holy week and for family touring with their young ones. This is an alternative location to Bala-an bukid, the place features stations of the cross too but was designed for strolling than trekking.
