Life is the heart of a rainbow- Yayoi Kusama
While I was in Jakarta for a fashion work assignment, I was introduced by some Indonesian designers to visit one of the amazing museums in the city — Museum Macan.
Museum Macan presents Yayoi Kusama “Life Is the heart of a rainbow” ( May 12 – September 9, 2018).
Guess I was lucky enough to visit and witness one of the greatest artworks of one of the world’s most recognized living artist, during my work trip in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Allow this blog entry to give you a virtual tour around the museum.

About Yayoi Kusama

The exhibition traces the artist’s development over seven decades, beginning in Japan in the early 1950’s, moving to New York in the 1960’s and returning to Japan in 1973 where Kusama lives and works today. – Museum Macan Mag
Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese artist diagnosed with a mental disorder. When she was a small girl she started seeing the world through a screen of tiny dots. The dots would usually cover everything she saw, including walls, ceilings, people and even her own body.
For 40 years she has been coping-up with her condition through painting, sculptures and photographs using dots to cover surfaces and fill all kinds of rooms. She calls this process ‘obliberation’, which means the complete destruction of every trace of anything.
Below are some amazing artworks you’ll see at the exhibition…

Tip: For Solo travelers like me, I used taxi to reach the Museum. One taxi I would highly recommend for a reliable and safe trip if Blue bird Taxi (Blue in color) or Grab car(s) . You may use the same Grab app for your trip in Jakarta.
Happy travels! See you on my next adventure.
